Dominic Young appointed at CEO of the Copyright Hub

Dominic Young has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Copyright Hub by the Copyright Hub Launch Group and the Copyright Licensing Steering Group. Mr Young takes over from Dr Ros Lynch, who is returning to the civil service.
The new CEO comes to the role after spending many years in the newspaper publishing industry, primarily at News International. In more recent years he has provided consultancy on copyright, public affairs and investment opportunities to a number of clients. His role as CEO will involve ensuring the successful implementation of the Copyright Hub Board’s strategies for the coming year.
Mr Young said of his appointment to the post:
“I am hugely excited by this role and the potential the Copyright Hub has to stimulate positive change and growth in the creative sector. It has a vision which aligns very closely with my own, and huge support and goodwill driving it forward. I can’t wait to begin work on the next phase bringing the ideas and plans to life.”

Richard Hooper delivers the Charles Clark Memorial Lecture at the London Book Fair 2013

The Chair of the CHLG and author of the Copyright Works report, Richard Hooper CBE, delivered the annual Charles Clark Memorial lecture at the London Book Fair in Earl’s Court.

In it he spoke of the challenges publishers and other creative sectors face in ensuring their copyright licensing processes are fit for the digital age and how these challenges could possibly be met by the development of the Copyright Hub.

From idea to reality: the Copyright Hub takes shape

The Government has agreed funding to enable the creative sector to embark on phase 1 of developing the Copyright Hub. With Government finance in place the first phase of the Copyright Hub will go live this summer.

Government gives £150,000 to kick-start copyright Hub

Intellectual Property Minister Lord Younger announces £150,000 of funding for the creation of the Copyright Hub. Lord Younger said ‘The Copyright Hub will simplify Copyright licensing for customers and I am delighted to announce this funding to enable industry to begin their work.’
